I start by observing a given context and create a discourse based on a system of crisscrossed relationships guided by my subjective vision – either to alter an original sense by offering a new path, or to reveal the real side to whatever is under analysis.

1. What made you choose art as a profession?
It was more a case of achieving my interests and intentions than a conscious choice.

2. How would you define your work?
I’m working on it…

3. What subjects are you interested in?
All those that need my attention.

4. What resources – formal or otherwise – do you use in your work?
All those in my line of action. I don't have any resources a priori; I always try to find the medium that best fits the project.

5. What relationship does your work have with reality? What are your raw materials?
I usually start with an epistemological study of a given reality and try to ensure my work is as true to the moment as possible.

6. What, according to you, is the point of art?
It depends on each spectator. More than offering solutions, for me it’s an attitude that occupies much of my life.

7. How do you hope the public will receive your work? What audience are you aiming at?
I hope the public takes the time to view it, and if it says anything to them, I hope they act accordingly. I’m aiming at anyone and everyone who’s interested.

8. What qualifications have you got? What do you value most from your time in education?
I see my education as the sum of experiences and explorations – an ever-changing constant.

9. How would you define your current professional situation? It could be better. And in the future?
I have wide-ranging hopes in many different directions.

10. Many artists say it’s difficult to make a living from their work; how do economic considerations affect you when it comes to work? Do you think this has a bearing on your work?
It’s the artist that has economic needs, not the work of art. In my work process, monetary need is assessed and acted on accordingly. It doesn’t affect my work and only sometimes makes it easier or faster to carry out.

11. What do you look for or expect from your relationship with promoters and curators? What advantages and difficulties have you found with these relationships?
Hmm…a professional relationship. I’d like advantages that facilitate my work and no difficulties. I should add that I’ve had very few such relationships to date.

12. What do you think sets the arts scene in Madrid apart from elsewhere? What would you say are its pluses and minuses?
I’ve not been here long, so I don’t really feel ready to answer this question.
